“Glow Prep: Your Guide to Facials + Waxing”

Preparing for your treatment is just as important as the treatment itself. Here's everything you need to know to ensure your experience at The SkinRN is smooth, comfortable, and glow-worthy.

Facials

To ensure the best results and protect your skin’s barrier, please follow these guidelines before your facial treatment:

  • Pause prescribed topical treatments.
If you've been prescribed any topical skincare medications by your dermatologist (such as acne or rosacea treatments), please discontinue use at least 7 days prior to your appointment.

  • Discontinue chemical exfoliants.
Avoid using AHAs, BHAs, retinols, and retinoids at least one week before your facial.

  • Aftercare matters.
Do not resume chemical exfoliants or retinoids for 5–7 days post-treatment to allow your skin to heal and fully benefit from the facial.

  • Inform us of any medications.
Some medications — including antibiotics, antifungals, retinoids, antidepressants, pain medications, and psychiatric medications — can increase skin sensitivity to light. Please inform your esthetician during your consultation.

Waxing

For the smoothest results and a more comfortable experience, please review the following before your waxing appointment:

  • Pause active skincare products.
Discontinue use of chemical exfoliants, topical prescriptions, and skin lightening creams at least 7 days before your wax to avoid irritation.

  • Let it grow.
If you've recently shaved, used Nair, or waxed, allow for 3–4 weeks of hair growth before your appointment. This ensures the hair is long enough for effective removal.

  • No trimming or shaving.
Please arrive with your hair untouched and untrimmed — we’ll take care of everything for you.
